Tata Power’s wholly owned subsidiary, Coastal Gujarat Power Limited (CGPL), has always been committed to improve the quality of life of the community living in and around its areas of operations, thereby aiding all round village development. In line with the Government of Gujarat E-Gram Policy, the Company supported the Gram Panchayats of Moti Khakhar, Nani Khakhar, Tunda and Mota Kandagara villages to digitise their records and administration processes.
The Government of Gujarat has launched an E-Gram Policy with an intent to connect all villages and talukas with internet facilities to provide E-services to the various Gram Panchayats of the state. With an aim to provide and develop the infrastructure for digitisation Tata Power identified the software from Infogram Software Pvt. Ltd., which is certified by the Government of Gujarat. The digistisation programme was implemented in the four Gram Panchayats including Moti Khakhar, Nani Khakhar, Tunda and Mota Kandagara. The success of this initiative is a result of vibrant partnership between panchayat and CGPL.
Speaking on the initiative, Mr K K Sharma, ED and CEO – CGPL, said, “The welfare of the community is at the heart of Tata Power’s operations. By supporting the digitisation process of the four Gram Panchayats we aim that the community is able take advantage of all the progressive schemes provided by the Gujarat Government. As per our philosophy, we jointly work with the community, panchayats and opinion makers to help improve the standard of living of the community living in our area of operations. We’ll continue undertaking such initiatives in the future as well.”
Speaking on the initiative, a representative from Nani Khakhar Gram Panchayat, stated “Since this software has been installed, it has become very easy to avail accurate information through the computer placed at our Gram Panchayat office. This software is very useful in our day to day activities. ”
The software offers customised service to Gram Panchayats to digitise their records and administration processes such as certificates of birth and death, proof of income, proof of caste, bona-fide certificate, proof of residence, etc. as well as forms/applications of various government schemes such as widow pension, old age pension scheme and disability pension scheme, among others.
