Election Commission of India today held West Zonal Conference of Chief Electoral Officers on National Electoral Roll Purification & Authentication Programme(NERPAP).

The aim of the programme is linking and authentication of EPIC data of electors with Aadhar data of UIDAI, corrections of errors or any relevant entry pertaining to electors within 15 days on production of documentary evidence, improvement of image quality, obtaining and feeding in the ER database, the mobile and email address of the electors so that periodic information of poll day, revision schedule, deletion/correction notice etc and other facilitation services can be provided to them.

A nationwide special camp will be organized at booth levels in all the Assembly Constituencies in the State on April 12, 2015 and thereafter, at least one special camp will be organized every month on any Sunday. Camp on 12 April will be held during 10.30 am to 5.30 pm. Booth Level Officers will guide the voters in this camp. Form no. 8 will be filled for correction in electors dataand submitted to BLO on the spot. BLO will note down Aadhar number in his register during the camp. Also new voters registration will be done by BLO after checking proofs, through form no.6. Migrated or dead voters will be corrected in list through form no.7. BLOs will be on door-to-door visits during 16 April and 15 June.

The programme has been launched with the objective of bringing an error-free and authentic electoral roll in the country. Voters with multiple registrations in the electoral rolls can come forward to delete their names.

Voters can link their Aadhaar number directly on the National Voters Service Portal-http://nvsp.in. They can also send SMS to 51969 or dial toll free number 1950. Electors can make corrections when officials are on a door-to-door survey.
