GSPC Gas and Gujarat Gas merger achieved

Merger of Gujarat Gas Company Ltd and GSPC Gas Company Ltd has received approval. A new company will be known as Gujarat Gas Limited. With merger of both companies,
A new chapter has begun in the area of gas distribution, said Finance, Energy and Petrochemicals Minister of Gujarat Shri Saurabh Patel.
He said Gujarat Gas Ltd has emerged as India’s biggest city gas distribution company with its presence in 19 districts of Gujarat, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Palghar district and Thane in Maharashtra.
The company according to him enjoys coverage of 10.23 lakh home users, over 14,000 industrial/commercial consumers, 230 CNG stations with daily 7.65 lakh kg CNG supply and in-total daily 6.5 metric million standard cubic meter (MMSCMD) gas selling which is highest in India.
With merger of both companies, market capital of new company (considering NSE closing on 15 May 2015) is Rs 10,600 crore.
According to Minister Saurabh Patel, the new company will add two lakh new gas connection in Gujarat in near future and will also set up more than 25 new CNG stations.
