Districts alerted, extremely heavy rain likely in next 48 hours at some places

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Ahmedabad office has alerted district collectors regarding possibility of extremely heavy rain at some places in next 48 hours in Gujarat.
According to Manorama Mohanty at IMD Ahmedabad office, parts of Gujarat, particularly central, north Gujarat and Kutch regions will receive heavy rain in next 48 hours. There’s possibility of extremely heavy showers at some places. Showers will continue even after 48 hours, but will decrease after 72 hours.
Yesterday’s low pressure area over north west Madhya Pradesh and adjoining east Rajasthan has become well marked low pressure area and it lies over east Rajasthan and neighborhood with associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to mid tropospheric levels.
Meanwhile parts of north Gujarat, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and central Gujarat continued to get moderate to heavy rains throughout Sunday.
Light rain continued in Ahmedabad since midnight with brief breaks
