Flood like situation in parts of north Gujarat, power supply off

Following constant heavy rain, and even extremely heavy rains at places large areas of north Gujarat are now facing the problem of water logging. This is not exactly flood situation, but it is almost like that.
The worst affected areas are Banaskantha and Patan. Road transporation on highways is affected due to breakdown and water logging. Vijapur-Visnagar, Chanasma-Bechraji are some of the routes that are difficult to explore. A bridge has been collapsed near Mangal in Dhanera belt. State Reserve Police(SRP) van was stuck in water near Vasna village of Vijapur belt.
Many areas of Patan have no power supply since early morning. Anand Sarovar in Patan named after Chief Minister Anandiben Patel is overflowing.
Power supply issue is also there in parts of Sabarkantha, Banaskantha and Mahesana districts. People complained that they couldn’t connect to UGVCL to register complain about power failure.
A goods train derailed in Deesa-Dhanera belt. 3 persons were reported drowning with their vehicle in Deesa belt.
Lakhni taluka is another area hit badly by extremely heavy rain.
Chief Secretary of state held video conference with district collectors to review the situation and discuss possible actions from state government side.
Fire brigade teams in Ahmedabad and Vadodara have been put on standby mode for eventual rescue operation in north Gujarat. NDRF teams are reportedly moved to north Gujarat.
There’s forecast of continuance of heavy rains in next 36 hours. Water from flood-hit rivers in Rajasthan is also flowing in rivers in north Gujarat.
