IOC – GSPL pact: study to find feasibility of piped gas in Rajasthan

A technical-economic study to find out feasibility of gas supply to households through pipeline in 25 cities and towns of Rajasthan will be conducted.
An MoU to conduct the study was signed between the state government and Indian Oil Corporation today.
The state Mines and Petroleum Minister Rajkumar Rinwa said the state government will provide all necessary cooperation to IOC for the study.
“Supply of gas through pipelines to domestic households and industrial areas will not only protect environment but would also curb pollution. The move will save money and time of consumers and also provide employment opportunities to youth,” he said.
IOC’s general manager Subrat Verma informed that IOC is consortium partner of GSPL India Gasnet Limited (Gujarat) and IOCL has 26 per cent partnership in the proposed two-gas pipelines of GIGL from Mehsana-Bhatinda and Mallavaram-Bhilwara-Vijaypur.
Both the pipelines, he informed, are proposed to pass from near 25 cities/towns of Rajasthan – Abu Road, Sirohi, Jalore, Udaipur, Dungarpur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Pali, Jodhpur, Bhilwara, Nasirabad, Kishangarh, Tonk, Sawaimadhopur, Jaipur, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Churu, Bikaner, Hanumangarh, Sriganganagar, Dausa, Bhiwadi and Alwar.
