August 26, 2015
Ahmedabad
Trains to Gujarat on Abu Road – Palanpur stretch are curtailed to Abu road station, as Patidar community agitators are sitting on railway track to stop railway traffic on Palanpur – Unjha and Unjha – Mahesana route.
In another incident, a group of agitators stopped goods train in Chandlodia area of Ahmedabad and tried to damage the railway track. There was a chance that they could set the train on fire. However police arrived at this place timely and lobbed tear gas shells to disburse the crowd. Couple of trains were stuck on the route, and passengers were complaining that they had no water or other facility at remote place where train had to halt due to agitation.
Patidar agitators tried to uproot the railway track near Vartej in Bhavnagar district and also at Nadiad-Modasa railway route.
