Ahmedabad Police Crime Branch and Special Operation Grop(SOG) teams today detained Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti(PAAS) convener Hardik Patel’s aide Atul Patel, Chirag Patel and Ketan Patel from shahibag area where they were to address a press conference. All of them were taken to Shahibag police headquarters. It is believed that they are being taken to Arvalli district. Police also detained Saurashtra region convener of PAAS Nilesh Savalia. PAAS has organized a ‘Shraddhanjali sabha’ in Tenpur near Modasa in Arvalli district of north Gujarat. The sabha was held in public-meeting style in which PAAS convener Hardik Patel and others delivered speeches. Public meetings with microphone need permission of police, but no such permission was granted for this meeting. While Hardik escaped the place after meeting and skipped police detention, the others were detained by police. Those detained are likely to be booked under IPC 188. If content of speeches is found provocative, more sections could be added. More details are awaited.

Update: Hardik Patel aides including PAAS Surat Convener Alpesh Kathiria are arrested under section 151 by Surat Police.
