Number of free of cost Nari adalat to be increased to 100:Gujarat CM

Gujarat Chief Minister Mrs. Anandiben Patel today said that her government will increase the number of the free of cost Nari Adalat (women courts) to 100 from existing 55.
Addressing a function at the Gujarat National Law University here in presence of Bangladesh Supreme Court Chief Justice S K Sinha, Mrs.Patel said these unique courts were doing commendable job to solve various disputes. The number of such courts which provide remedies without any cost would be increased to 100.
The Chief Minister said that over 10 lakh cases has been disposed of by various evening courts in Gujarat since their inception in 2006 by the then chief minister Narendra Modi.
‘The state government has constituted 13 special anti corruption courts , 53 family courts, 60 sanitation and healthcare courts, 43 courts pertaining to negotiable instruments act and four related to drug traffic matters in last almost one decade.
She urged the students of GNLU to pledge to take one or two cases of poor and needy people every year on completion of their studies. The CM lamented the fact that despite the expenditure of two to three crores from government funds on the education of every medical student, they were not coming forward to serve in the rural areas where their services were most required.
On the occasion Mrs. Patel also without naming the Patidar reservation agitation said that peace and stability was needed to keep the development of Gujarat going. ‘The state was marred by chaos and communal conflicts over two decades ago. We have made it a model for the country with great effort now if you don’t want to contribute to the development please don’t try to disturb the peace,’ she said.
The Chief Minister also reiterated the initiatives taken by her including the Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavlamban Yojana of Rs.1000 crore per year for educational benefits to the weaker sections of all the communities.
Minister of state for Law and Justice Pardipsinh Jadeja and Director GNLU BImal N Patel were also present on the occasion.
