Western Railway urges passengers to arrive early at Ahmedabad Railway Station

Ahmedabad: Western Railway’s Ahmedabad Division has issued an appeal to rail passengers in view of the ongoing redevelopment work at Ahmedabad Railway Station. With continuous rainfall in the city contributing to potential traffic congestion, passengers are advised to reach the station at least 30 minutes before their scheduled train departure time to avoid any inconvenience.

The Ahmedabad Railway Station redevelopment project was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February 2024 and is expected to be completed by 2027. Estimated at ₹2,383 crore, the station’s design is inspired by the Surya Mandir of Modhera.

The redeveloped station will feature ultra-modern facilities, similar to those found at airports. A multi-modal transport hub near Kalupur will include a 16-storey building with two basement levels. The first six floors will be designated for parking, while the 4th and 5th floors will house railway offices. The upper floors will offer various passenger amenities.

A concourse 10 meters above ground level will provide seamless connectivity to the bullet train and metro stations. Spread over 35 acres, the project includes separate zones for arrivals and departures. DeshGujarat
