Six more arrested in Surat for August violence

Sarthana police in Surat has arrested five Patidar persons in connection with the August riots. Three of them are 17-year-old. Other two are Mitesh Lalji Desai and Manish Ramesh Raiyani, both residents of Yogi Chowk area.
During the Patidar rampage in the last week of August this year, a violent mob of Patidars had attacked Police Sub Inspector Salunke and other three-four police persons and torched their police jeep. Salunke was abducted but other Patidars intervened and allowed him to go. Sarthana police had filed FIR in this case. All five arrested were found involved in this act of violence through CCTV footage and mobile locations.
In another case of stone pelting during the month of September following Patidar agitation leader Hardik Patel’s detention, Kapodra police has arrested Chirang Manji Jasani(22), resident of Nana Varachha area. Police traced him through mobile location and recovery of his bike at the place of incident.
