‘Chitthi Aayee Hai’ fame famous ghazal Pankaj Udhas has in an interview with a Gujarati newspaper alleged that Pakistani ghazal singer Ghulam Ali transfers money earned in India to foreign country through Hawala network.
In an interview with Gujarati newspaper at its Mumbai office, Pankaj Udhas said Ghulam Ali has never paid any income tax in last 35 years. Udhas questioned why red carpet is laid for Ghulam Ali in India?
He said, the artists from foreign land don’t come because love for this land, they just come here to earn cash. On the other hand Pakistan doesn’t even give visa to Indian artists. “I have been denied visa thrice by Pakistan,” he added.
Udhas said while Pakistani artist is welcomed in India in all areas, and they get money and place to live here, we get completely opposite treatment.
It should be mentioned that Shiv Sena had in Maharashtra opposed Ghulam Ali’s scheduled event which was later canceled.
