Ahmedabad
It’s Labh Pancham today.
It is fifth day of Gujarati Vikram Samvat calendar year. After five days of Diwlai break, businesses restart their activities today on Labh Pancham day every year.
Muharats for reopening the business today are 6.52-8.15 am(Amrut) and 9.37-10.59 am(Shubh).
Contrary to other parts of India, Gujarat celebrates the festival of Diwali for five or more days. While in other parts of India there’s provision of Christamus vacation, the people in Gujarat enjoy Diwali vacation(21 days this year).
Labh Pancham is also marked as Gyan Panchami by followers of Jain faith. Jain religious institutions hold Gyan Panchami exhibition to showcase old scripture, books, manuscripts, instrument of creating content and other things.
At Surendrsurishwarji Jain Tatvagyan Shala in Ahmedabad’s naranpura area, Badshah Akbar’s 20 ft long notification issued to order shut down of butcher houses across Gujarat is among the things displayed.
