Sunday’s local polls in Gujarat in figures

Elections for Six Municipal Corporation in Gujarat including Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Jamnagar and Bhavnagar will be held on Sunday, November 22.
All six bodies consist 568 seats in 143 wards.
There are total 1856 candidates in fray.
Total voters in all six municipal corporations are 95,90,552 in which 51,10,713 are gents and 44,79,839 are ladies.
Total poling stations are 12,616.
Out of total 95,90,552 voters, Ahmedaad has 39,83,589, Rajkot has 8,85,700, Bhavnagar has 4,54,059, Jamnagar has 4,11,613, Vadodara has 12,27,934 and Surat has 26,27,657 voters.
Ahmedabd will see polling on 192 seats across 48 wards, Surat 116 seats across 29 wards, Vadodara 76 seats across 19 wards, Rajkot 72 seats across 18 wards, Jamnagar 64 seats across 16 wards, Bhavnagar 52 seats across 13 wards. There are total 568 seats across 143 wards with 1856 candidates in fray.
BJP is ruling party in all these six civic bodies. In 2010 general elections, BJP had won 75% of seats in these six municipal corporations.
