Film actor Aamir Khan today joined the chorus of anti-government group of ‘intelligentsia’ against ‘growing intolerance’, saying he has been “alarmed” by a number of incidences and his wife Kiran Rao even suggested that they should probably leave the country. There were heated reactions from patriotic social media handles on Twitter after Aamir Khan’s remark.

Actor Anupam Kher asked some hard hitting questions to Aamir Khan trough tweets.

– Dear Aamir Khan, did you ask Kiran which country would she like to move out to? Did you tell her that this country has made you Aamir Khan?( Kiran is Aamir Khan’s second wife who according to Aamir Khan wished to move out of India, as country is intolerant)

– Dear Aamir Khan, did you tell Kiran that you have lived through more worse times in this country but you never thoughs of moving out?

– Dear Aamir Khan, when did ‘Incredible India’ become ‘Intolerant India’ for you? Only in the last 7-8 months? ( Aamir Khan had been made brand ambassador of Tourism India by Congress led UPA government in centre. There are several ‘Incredible India’ advertisement running on TV featuring Aamir Khan. Some twitter handle also demanded that the central government should now change the brand ambassador of Tourism India, as Aamir Khan despite of being a brand ambassador for ‘Incredible India’ now speaks about intolerant India.)

– Dear Aamir Khan, presumed country has become intolerant. What do you suggest to millions of Indians? Leave India? Or wait till regime changes?

Raveena Tandon’s take – Guess all those who did not want Prime Minister Modi to become PM, want to bring this government down, sadly because of politics, they are shaming country. Fringe elements were always there. One can always say that’s condemnaable, action needs to be taken against them, but to spread paranoia? Not done. Wonder why they didn’t feel fear when bombs ripped the heart of Mumbai..Or our security was breached on 26th of 11(terror attack)-gosh! No point same argument. Let’s cut the BS- why can’t these people openly say that they weren’t happy since the day Modi became Prime minister, instead of shaming the whole country? Really-have the guts tos ay it openly, instead of draggint the whole country’s image down, I don’t have a problem with any form of protest, but when it comes to respecting your nation and what it has done for you?? Ram Gopal Varma’s take – The problem with today’s time is that we are drowning in information and starving for wisdom. If Aamir, Shahrukh and Salamn, the three biggest start of the Hindu country ‘India’ are Muslims, I don’t understand where intolerance is? In a predominantly Hindu country, if 3 Muslims can become the biggest iconic super stars that itself proves the majority aren’t intolerant. Some celebs complaining about intolerance should be the last ones to complain because they became celebs in a so called intolerant country. Isolated incidents cant be taken as sign of intolerance and the super stardom of 3 Muslims is proof enough of the vast majority’s tolerance. isn’t Aamir, Shahrukh, Salman, three Muslims becoming biggest stars of a Hindu country proof enough that India is tolerant? It’s the celebs need for creating drawing room debates to increase their popularity which flares up non existent negativity between communities. If you are really feeling like a family and there’s a problem in the family, family members in public will not say there’s intolerance in the family. The fact is that the vast majority connect only to individuals deeds and generalized hard feelings are nothing but juvenile noises. Intolerance is being debated not because of vast majority of Hindus, but because of a minuscule minority of rabble rousers in both.
