Gujarat CM to mark starting raft concreting work at Statue of Unity

Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel will be present at the time of starting work on raft concreting at the Sardar Patel’s ‘Statue of Unity’ near Kevadia Colony, 3.1-km downstream the Sardar Sarovar Project (SSP) dam, on the Narmada on Tuesday, December 15, 2015.
The world’s tallest statue will use 5,600 Metric Tonnes (MT) of Structural Steel, 66,000 MT of concrete and 1,900 MT of ‘kansa’.
The Chief Minister, accompanied by senior officers, will also inspect the progress of installing sluice gates on the main SSP dam.
