– Notification for toll tax collection at Beti toll booth near Rajkot was issued in year 2012 and toll booth collection had started recently. We made representation that Beti toll booth is within 13 km distance of another toll booth located on same road at Bamanbor. The central government has in response denotified the road and handed it over to Gujarat government.A decision has been taken that toll collection process at Beti toll booth will be closed and merged with toll collection at Bamanmor toll plaza and it will be reduced as much as possible.
– Ahmedabad – Gandhinagar – Naroda national highway was expanded to 10 meter width in the past, but traffic issue continued to exist due to IAF, BSF, Army, education institutes there. We were demanding to convert this road to four lane. Today Shri Nitin Gadkari has given approval for this task. It will make journey between Himmatnagar and Naroda smoother and safer.
– Construction works for world’s tallest statue featuring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel are going on in full speed. Once the statue is ready, it will be a major tourist destination attracting lakhs of visitors. We requested Shri Nitin Gadkari to convert Rajpipla – Devaliya highway into four lane at cost of Rs 223 crore.
– Kamrej – Kadodara highway is four lane at present. This stretch experiences heavy traffic of national highway and Surat city. We had demanded to convert this road in to six-lane. Shri Nitin Gadkari has given approval to this proposal. The travelers traveling to Mumbai will have smoother, safer and speedier journey.
– Last year Shri Nitin Gadkari had approved Rs 473 crore works from central reserve fund for which tender process is in progress. Today we made representation for more grant to Gujarat.
