Ervadiya, who was first stir leader to be nabbed under sedition charges by the police on September 22 last year has also become first leader of Patidar reservation stir labeled with sedition charges to come out of jail on a regular bail.
Earlier yesterday another court in Ahmedbad had granted conditional temporary bail for five days to yet another Patidar quota stir leader Ketan Patel, who was lodged in Sabarmati jail here in connection with a sedition case, for treatement of his ailing son.
Additional Sessions Judge P J Agravat imposed several conditions (many of them routine) while granting bail to Ervadiya, who in his bail plea has said that following the filing of charge sheet against him he should be given bail.
Ervadiya had allegedly circulated instigating videos against State govt machinery, Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah during the violent stir.
He was booked for sedition among other charges for disrupting law and order and inciting people to target government using offensive language through audio, video recordings. The FIR was lodged in B-division police station of Morbi under IPC sections 124 A (sedition), 153, 153 A, sections 66, 66C of IT acts. It alleged that he and his unidentified friend made audio, video messages using objectionable language against CM, PM and other leaders provoking people to disrupt the law and order in the state. These messages were in circulation a day before the pro reservation rally of PAAS at GMDC ground in Ahmedabad on August 25 after which the state wide violence erupted.
The court, howerver asked Ervadiya to submit his passport (if he is having one) to the police, remain present during the trial, inform the investigating agency regarding his residential address, not to try to distort or influence the evidence, reprot whenever called by the investigating officer.
