A day before his election as President of Gujarat BJP, Vijay Rupani visits Keshubhai

Vijay Rupani, the minister in state cabinet who is all set to be elected unopposed as president of the Gujarat unit of Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) tomorrow at 12.39 pm, today visited the residence of former Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Keshubhai Patel in Gandhinagar and sought his blessings.
Though his name is not declared officially as party president, party leaders off the record covey media person that Vijaybhai is going to become the President tomorrow.
Vijay Rupani after visiting Keshubhai said: I tool blessing of Keshubhai Patel this morning. It reminded saying ‘leader from the people who have walked the path before you.”
He also said, “I had not met Keshubhai for long time, so today I met him to seek his guidance.”
Keshubhai from his side offered sweets to Vijaybhai and congratulated him in advance.
It should be mentioned that Keshubhai in 1970s and 1980s played key role in mobilization of Patel community’s support in favor of BJP especially in Saurashtra region. In fact this is the task Vijaybhai has to achieve again in year 2017 assembly polls of Gujarat as party president.
