Ahmedabad

Baba Ramdev who is on one day visit to Gujarat today while replying to media’s question at Sardar Vallabhbhai airport here said, India is the only nation where some people think their vote bank is more important than nation’s unity. Then it has become fashion in some class that more you hate India, more you are considered moderate.

Ramdev was replying a question on Rahul Gandhi’s controversial stand of extending support to JNU students protesting against government’s crackdown following anti-India slogans chanted in campus.

Ramdev said, “being friendly to anti-nationals is also an act of treason( deshdrohiyon ke sath yaari, yeh bhi gaddari hi hai). Being anti-national and extending support to an anti-national act is legally a crime. Those in politics should rise above vote bank politics and should not compromise with nation’s unity, that’s what I believe.”

When asked about arrest of JNUSU President and CPI cadre Kanhaiya Kumar, Baba said, “If as per his claim, those chanting slogans were from outside the JNU campus, Kanhaiya is good orator, he could actually stop them. Why didn’t he do that? Thousands and lakhs people come to our public meetings. No one has dared to chant anti-India slogans.”

Baba Ramdevsaid,”those who are anti-national should not go free, and those innocent should not be framed. The slogans that were raised were not proper for nation’s unity. It is needed to be investigated that who actually was raising slogans. It is however clear that those in that crowd were definitely not country lover.
