Ahmedabad – Delhi Rajdhani, Ashram express, other trains canceled

Due to Jat agitation on various sections of Delhi Division of Northern Railway, several trains which run on western railway have been cancelled while some trains have been short terminated as under :-

• 12471 Bandra Terminus – Jammu Tawi Swaraj Express of 21st & 22nd Feb,2016
• 12925 Bandra Terminus-Amritsar Paschim Express of 21st Feb,2016
• 12216 Bandra Terminus – Delhi Sarai Rohilla Garib Rath Express of 21st Feb,2016
• 22451 Bandra Terminus – Chandigarh Express of 22nd Feb,2016
• 12477 Jamnagar – Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Katra Express of 23rd Feb,2016
• 12957 Ahmedabad- New Delhi Swarna Jayanti Rajdhani Express of 20th & 21st Feb,2016
• 19031 Ahmedabad-Haridwar Express of 21st Feb,2016
• 12915 Ahmedabad- Delhi Ashram Express of 21st Feb,2016
• 19415 Ahmedabad- Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Katra Express of 21st Feb,2016

Short Termination :-

• 19031 Ahmedabad-Haridwar Express departing from Ahmedabad on 20th Feb,2016 will be short terminated at Jaipur.
• 12915 Ahmedabad- Delhi Ashram Express departing from Ahmedabad on 20th Feb,2016 will be short terminated at Jaipur.

Trains earlier cancelled due to Jat Agitation in Northern Region have now been restored

12477 Jamnagar-Katra of 23.02.16 will now run as per schedule & 12478 Katra-Jamnagar of 21.02.16 Jammutawi Express will run between New Delhi-Jamnagar

Due to ongoing Jat Agitation on various sections of Northern Railway, some Western Railway trains pertaining to Rajkot Division earlier declared as cancelled have now been restored as under:

Train no. 12477 Jamanagar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (Jammutawi) Express of 23.02.16 which had earlier been declared as cancelled has been restored and now run on regular basis as per its schedule.

Train no. 12478 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Jamnagar (Jammutawi) Express of 21.02.16 which had earlier been declared as cancelled has now been partially cancelled between Katra-New Delhi. This train will now run on regular basis as per its schedule between New Delhi-Jamnagar.

More than 800 trains hit due to Jat stir

The Jat stir in Haryana has severely hit the movement of more than 800 trains, and seven stations in the state were set on fire by the agitators.

Jhajjar, Buddha Khed, Julana and Pillu Kheda were among the seven stations which were set afire, a Railway spokesperson said, adding that two track machines were also burnt at Pillu Kheda.

Ahmedabad Rajdhani, Jammu Rajdhani, Shatabdi Express for Amritsar, Kalka, Chandigarh, Bhatinda, and Jaipur AC double-decker services are among 213 trains cancelled due to the Jat agitation, he said.

The agitation has spread over to Delhi-Rewari, Rewari-Alwar, Lohari-Sadulpur sections spanning across Northern and North Western zones of railways.

While 136 trains were diverted, 68 were partially cancelled. Overall, services of 419 Mail or Express trains were hit, the official said.

Passengers with confirmed tickets were informed of the cancellation of their trains through SMS, he said, adding that additional counters have been opened for refund.

Besides, freight operation has also been badly hit due to the agitation, a senior Railway Ministry official said.

He said the disruptions have caused a loss of more than Rs 200 crore to the Railways.

Nine trains were cancelled, four partially cancelled and the route of five others changed in Rajasthan.

The trains which were cancelled are Ahmedabad-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, Jodhpur-Delhi Mandore Express, Jodhpur/Bikaner-Delhi Sampark Kranti Express, Udaipur-Delhi Chetak Express, Ajmer-New Delhi Shatabdi Express, Ajmer-Haridwar Express, Ajmer-Amritsar Express, Delhi-Udaipur Chetak Express and Delhi-Bandra Terminus Garibrath Express, NWR CPRO Tarun Jain said.

A large number of passengers were left stranded in Jammu as several trains passing through Haryana were cancelled due to the agitation.PTI
