Gujarat government has allotted 1407 hectare land to Gujarat Power Corporation to set up a 750 MW ultra mega solar plant in Vav taluka of Banaskantha district. A request has been sent for setting up Ultra Mega Solar Power Project. However local villagers have pointed out that about 68 hectare land is grass land and therefore re-survey should be done for adjustment of this 68 hectare land. The government has in response to this complain started re-survey procedure.
According to Karsanbhai Rajput, Sarpanch of Radha Nesda group panchayat which is located 30 km away from international border with Pakistan, the government will return 68 hectare land. He said the plant will transform this area. Unemployed youths will get employment and border area will have a new look.
The land has been allocated 6 km away from Radha Nesds in Rann of Kutch where Chor Zad, Limda Bet, old Bhagwati mandir and other bet areas are located.
