Works for Smart City projects are likely to kick off before the month of July this year. In a video conference covering municipal commissioners of all Smart City scheme beneficiary cities, the central government early this week gave clear direction that the approved Smart City project works must be kicked off before 25 June 2016. Rs 100 crore grant for each selected city of Gujarat has been released and it is now with the State government. The grant will further move to the bank account of city based development limited entity soon.
