Kishorsinh Rathod, son of Congress leader and former MLA Bhavsinh Rathod has emerged main suspect of Rs 270 crore drug manufacturing racket. Police is in search of Kishorsinh and his aide Jay Mukhi. One Narendra Kacha is already arrested in this case.

The announcement on Kishorsinh’s involvement was made by senior police officer J.K.Bhatt. He said Kishorsinh has history of crime. He had been arrested earlier in counterfeit currency case and sentenced five year imprisonment.

Kishorsinh’s father and former MLA, Congress leader Bhavsinh Rathod alleged that his son was framed due to political reasons. He said his son was in Mumbai and out of contact. Bhavsinh has also criminal history. He was served behind bars in connection with narcotics smuggling charges under ‘the NDPS Act’ and also under Section 135A of the Customs Act. Involvement of Bhavsinh in this case can’t be denied.

Ahmedabad Police Crime Branch and Anti Terrorist Squad(ATS) yesterday in a joint operation recovered 1300 Kg ephedrine which is used to make narcotic drug methamphetamine.

Ephedrine had arrived from Maharashtra and it was to be processed in an industrial unit in Vahelal area of Ahmedabad to make methamphetamine.

MD Steel shade in Vahelal near Ahmedabad, the place used for drug racket was hired by MD Steel about fifteen days ago to Kishorsinh Rathod for Rs 31,000.

Kishor and Jay had visited Dubai and held meeting with some drug mafias from Poland. The meeting was arranged by one NRI Gujarati. As per the details of this meeting, some party drug was made by Kishorsinh in Gujarat was to be sent to Amsterdam and European countries. Other stock was to be supplied in India.

A meeting was also to be held in Goa for same purpose.

To maintain secrecy of racket, accused were using Gujarati words like Ghau(wheat) and Bajro.

The stock of ephedrine was bought from a pharma factory of one Mr. Punit at Solanpur in Mahrashtra.

According to accused Narendra Kacha, already arrested in this case, ephedrine was made in synthetic form in industrial unit at Solapur by one Punit. It was taken to Ahmedabad by road.

Narendra Kacha who has been arrested has completed BSc education. He has worked in pharma companies in Ahmedabad and Kadi. Kacha was making Rs 80-100 per kg process of drug.
