The Ruling BJP, which announced to bring an ordinance on May 1 to provide 10% reservation to economically backward sections of the non-reserved categories, clarified that the similar benefits of the earlier announced Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavlamban Yojana (MYSY) would also continue simultaneously.
BJP state spokesperson Bharat Pandya said that the benefits of the Rs 1,000 crore per annum MYSY scheme announced by chief minister Mrs Anandiben Patel in September last year would continue along with the 10% quota.
‘So far around 11000 students of the economically weaker sections have got an educational assistance of Rs 36 crore under the scheme. It will continue as usual,’ he said.
