Let Congress give 20 % EBC quota in states ruled by it first: Nitin Patel
May 13, 2016
Gandhinagar
Gujarat Government spokesperson and Health Minister Nitin Patel today alleged that Congress leader Shankersinh Vaghela was issuing false and misleading statement on the EBC reservation issue.
Mr. Patel said, ” Mr. Vaghela, the leader of opposition in the state assembly, was claiming to give 20 % reservation to the economically weaker sections of the un-reserved categories in Gujarat if his party comes to power. This statement is completely false and misleading. If Congress is really so serious about it, the party without loosing anymore time should first do so in the states currently under its rule and then only Mr. Vaghela should talk about Gujarat”.
Responding to a letter of jailed Patidar Anamat Aandolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Patel seeking Congress’ assurance on 20% reservation to the economically weaker sections of Patels and other un-reserved categories, Mr Vaghela had earlier today said that his party would do so in the state within 100 days of coming to power.
