Lion rescued from well in Gujarat

A lion which had fallen in an open well near Zarakhada village under Savarkundala taluka of Amreli district has finally been rescued safely this afternoon after over five hours long operation by a team of forest department.
In-charge DFO of Gir-East forest range Dr. Ramratan Nala said that the 3 to 4 year old male lion has been rescued safely with the help of rope and a cage.
The beast had fallen accidentally in the around 200 ft deep well situated in a farm. The well had reportedly dried up.
The rescue has brought relief to the forest department in the district where over half a dozen big cats had died in past few weeks alone.
