Govt plans Mundra – Ahmedabad – JNPT express way: Gadkari in Kutch

Sarkhej-Mundra and Sarkhej-JNPT Mumbai express ways(high-speed corridors), LPG container terminal and furniture and automobile clusters in Kandla, wind and solar projects for power supply to Kandla Port Trust complex and desalination plant for drinking water supply to same were some of the announcements made by union Shipping, Road and Transport minister Shri Nitin Gadkari at Gandhidham-Kandla on second and last day of his two-day Gujarat visit.
Gadkari attended functions at five places in Gandhidham-Kandla complex.
He said the government is planning Rs 10,000 crore Sarkhej(Ahemdabad)-Mundra expressway, Rs 9,000 crore Sarkhej-Pipavav express way and Rs 18,000 crore Ahmedabad-JNPT Mumbai expressway.
The matter is still at proposal stage under Rs 45,000 crore port connectivity plans, he said and therefore refused to share more details.
He announced plans for Rs 500 crore LPG terminal and Rs 2,000 crore container terminal at Kandla.
Considering the fact that Kandla import huge quantity of imported wood, Gadkari also announced plans for furniture cluster and automobile cluster here.
Gadkari proposed conversion of Kandla hospital into medical college in future, an engineering college, tree plantations in Gandhidham, wind and solar power producing units to supply cheaper power to Kandla complex and desalination plant to convert sea water into potable one.
Gadkari also visited Adani group operated Mundra port.
