Garib Kalyan Melas to give out Rs 14,000 crore to beneficiaries

Gujarat government will distribute about Rs 14,000 crore worth of benefits under various schemes for poor directly to 12 to 14 lakh beneficiaries by holding ninth edition of Garib Kalyan Melas(GKMs) at 150 places across the state in 22 districts. A meeting chaired by state Chief Minister in this regard was held in Gandhinagar. As many as 1,93,200 school-going girls will get bicycles under Saraswati Sadhana Scheme during GKMs. According to the state government, Over 1 crore beneficiaries were given equipment and benefits worth Rs 24,296 crore in the last 8 editions of GKMs.
