Fact check on AAP allegation pertaining to cancellation of Kejriwal’s Gujarat visit

Surat/Ahmedabad: If he comes, then ‘tamasha’ and if does not come then even more ‘tamasha’.
Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Admi Party(AAP) today tried to make new ‘tamasha'(or say controversy) over cancellation of Kejriwal’s proposed visit to Gujarat. AAP MLA from Delhi who is party’s Gujarat incharge today called a press conference in Ahmedabad and created an impression that Kejriwal had to cancel his Gujarat visit as local hosts were put under pressure of state government and booking of hall at South Gujarat University was canceled.
When we applied fact check, local person called Jaylal who had “invited” Arvind Kejriwal to converse with business persons and traders said there’s absolutely no pressure from anybody. The event was canceled because it had become too big. The event will be organized again in future.
At the same time the Vice Chancellor of South Gujarat University Dr Dakshesh Thakar said, “we have not cancelled the event. Even as of today, there’s no other booking in this hall for July 10. The organizers have from their side canceled the event and taken back the advance money they had paid.”
Thakar is right because a letter(attached with this article here) for cancellation of hall was written by organizers with their signature and it is now in public – to say precisely with media.
Questions are asked why Kejriwal canceled even Somnath visit which was scheduled on July 9? If venue is available for his proposed meeting in South Gujarat University even today, what are the basis of AAP allegation that venue was an issue? If local host clearly states that there was no pressure, why AAP holds press meet without him and makes an announcement that he was under pressure? Suppose if local host is under pressure as per AAP, why AAP itself doesn’t organize an event?

AAP has released ‘sting video’ in which it claims local host Jaylalbhai tells AAP leaders that he was asked to cancelled the hall as Kejriwal was to give address there. AAP hasalso released sting video in which it claims Registrar of University denied it hall if Arvind Kejriwal was to attend the event. The question is, what about Somnath visit cancellation? What about other halls available in Surat? What about alternative event in Surat? There are still 10 days left! Then if you book university hall for traders meet and if you actually want to call a political leader and hold political meet, the university may deny venue.
Meanwhile Gujarat BJP president Vijay Rupani said Arvind Kejriwal is doing nautanki, noone has stopped him from coming to Gujarat. Kejriwal has canceled his visit as he didn’t get support here.
AAP has in the past has tasted worst defeats in various elections in Gujarat without a single success, but somehow it has developed a skill to get media focus, not through any concrete work but through lies and controversies.
