Surat PAAS convener quits, makes allegations against Hardik

Surat: In yet another ‘internal’ blow to Hardik Patel after the open revolt of 3 former close aides and key players of Patidar quota stir Chirag Patel, Ketan Patel and Nilesh Ervadiya, yet another key figure of the Patidar Anamat Aandolan Samiti (PAAS) Nikhil Savani has also become vocal against the said ‘autocratic’ and politically motivated style of functioning of the PAAS leader.

Nikhil, who had played a key role during the quota stir last year in Surat and elsewhere and participated in a long lasting fast demanding release of Hardik from jail, has resigned from all the posts of the outfit alleging that the PAAS leader was taking all the decision at his own without consulting others and was moving the agitation on a ‘political’ path.

Nikhil was recently appointed as guardian of Vadodara, Bharuch and Narmada districts for PAAS activities. He was also placed in TV discussion panel to represent PAAS.

Earlier Chirag and Ketan had alleged that the PAAS leader, who is now spending his time in Udaipur for six months as per the bail condition, was misusing the funds collected in the name of the agitation to lead luxurious life. The duo was later suspended from the outfit.

Yesterday Nilesh Ervadiya, the PAAS leader from Morbi, who was the first to be booked under sedition charges during the quota stir, also alleged that Hardik has lost his way and made the agitation directionless. He had also alleged that Hardik was seemingly working on the insistence of certain political leaders.

In his resignation letter addressed to Hardik, Savani has alleged that the PAAS leader who in the beginning used to take every decision with consensus was now not hearing or consulting anyone. He also alleged that Hardik has seemingly forgot the cause of agitation and was taking it on a political path.

Notably, apart from actively participating in the agitation, Nikhil had participated in a long lasting fast demanding release of Hardik from jail. He was appointed the convener of the outfit in Surat. He was also in-charge of Vadodara, Bharuch and Narmada.
