CM Vijay Rupani announces, commences key development projects for Rajkot

Rajkot: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today expressed pledge to fill Aaji dam with Narmada water next year. Aaji dam is considered lifeline of Rajkot city. The government is planning to fill it with Narmada water through SAUNI yojana conceived by then Chief Minister and present Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Rupani’s announcement was welcomed by citizens of Rajkot with cheer and applause.

Rupani announced installation of two machines at Pandit Deen Dayal hospital(Civil hospital) of Rajkot for thalassemia patients on urgent basis. He said related orders are already issued to govt officials in this regard.

Rupani in public function held in Rajkot city named Rajkot Urban Development Authority(RUDA) constructed affordable housing scheme as Veer Savarkar Avas Yojana, while Pradhan Mantri Aavas Yojana housing was named as Dr Ambedkar Avas.

Rupani named proposed second phase of ring road of Rajkot city as Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay road. Rupani performed ground breaking for proposed 8.96 km long and 45 meter wide second phaes of Rajkot ring road in which three high level bridges are to be built. Rupani said Rs 24.74 lakh LED streetlights will be erected here.

Rupani presented a certificate of Open Defecation Free(ODF) city to Rajkot Mayor Dr Jayman Upadhyay. Rajkot has become seventh such city in India and first big city in Gujarat.

Rupani dedicated Rs 6.24 crore 136 affordable housing units. He unveiled plaque of Rs 27 crore proposed flyover to be constructed at Nanavati chowk and Rs 22 lakh flyover which is to be built near Omnagar. He also performed ground breaking of Rs 23.50 crore flyover which is to be constructed over KKV circle and Indira circle.

In this function, district collector Dr Vikrant Pande announced Rs 20 lakh for CCTV installation by Rajkot Police in city. Mayor of city announced Rs 51 lakh from Councillors fund for CCTV project. Gondal BJP announced Rs 5 lakh for Army Welfare Trust.
