Why Arvind Kejriwal stayed away from media during his Gujarat visit

Ahmedabad: Remember that Arvind Kejriwal of old days? He would call frequent press conferences. National media would telecast such press meets live. He would be presenting something sensational to the media and also give all replies to questions asked by journos. Wherever he would go, he would address media. He would be even into friendly informal talk with the media persons post press meets.

That Kejriwal who was saying, bachcho ki kasam he would not join politics, he would not take govt bungalow, he would not take security like other leaders, he would not take Congress support to form government, he would run honest government, he would jail Sheila Dixit, he would chose his candidates with thorough check etc……….that Kejriwal illusion has gone. Scams, scandals, blunders, breach of promises, shamelessness, misrule in Delhi …… Kejriwal has so much to answer, he has to face so many uncomfortable questions that he seems highly feared from scribes and literally running away from the press, forget in Delhi, even in Gujarat.

During his stay in Gujarat for three days, Kejriwal didn’t address a press conference. Forget, press conference he didn’t even speak to media person on the sidelines of his stay, arrival and departure or any other function. He didn’t take questions from media. In fact in Unjha when a group of media person, mostly consisting of TV crew rushed to get his byte, his men misbehaved with media(as reported by Gujarati news channel TV9 Gujarati) outside the door as if they were clearly instructed by Kejriwal that media should be strictly kept away from him! Kejriwal’s men were throughout his visit keeping away media persons. In Vadodara, media persons were told Kejriwal was having fever and he was unwell and resting.

Does Kejriwal think he is a Prime Minister, or President of India? Why he is in the air? What is Kejriwal after all? A Chief Minister technically, but practically a mayoral leader, as most people in India consider Delhi as a city and not state! What is Kejriwal in Gujarat? He is a small-time opposition leader who has not a single panchayat seat even. He needs media favour here. If he thinks, the crores of Rupees of advertisements by Delhi government released in Gujarati and English newspapers would work for itself and attract favour, he is not exactly right.

One major reason why Kejriwal kept himself away from media persons could be pertaining to a recent blog controversy that has been untouched by mainstream media, but very much celebrated by social media.

Well this entire aloo affair is very recent and the way Kejriwal, his supporters and his partymen are silent on this, it looks like this was the reason why Kejriwal stayed away from facing media.

Kejriwal also stayed away from facing media, as perhaps he wanted to avoid the controversy regarding his statement that has gone in favor of Pakistan against Indian interests. The statement that has been very welcomed by Pakistan. The statement for which Kejriwal has become hero in Pakistan. Worth noting that Kejriwal has neither in his Piludara public meeting nor in Surat rally mentioned anything regarding this controversy pertaining to his statement.
