Gujarat govt launches two-wheeler bike taxi scheme, shares details

Gandhinagar: Gujarat govt today said it has started bike taxi scheme for public.
– Two wheeler vehicle has to be 50 cc or higher and should have gear or automatic gear.
– The operator should have minimum 50 bikes or should be possessing 100 bikes on rent or aggregation of 200 bikes to get permission to run this service.
– Non transport bikes for personal use will need to be converted to transport vehicle for which BTBTI form will need to be filled and Rs 150 fee will have to be paid.
– License will need to be taken to promote the taxi and get customers under Motor Vehicle Act, for which Rs 500 fee of LAG form and Rs 2,000 cash deposit will have to be paid.
– Driver will need authorization and base of riding vehicle.
– One who has been riding two wheeler for last one year or more and 20+ in age for personal use will only get transport license authorization.
