Suzuki Motors to start Japan India Institute of Manufacturing in Gujarat, Maruti plant to start next month: Toshihiro

Gandhinagar: Speaking at Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017 inaugural function, Japan based Suzuki Motors representative director and president(CEO & COO) Toshihiro Suzuki in his speech said his company will start its car manufacturing plant in Gujarat next month.
Toshihiro also announced to set up a Japan India Institute of Manufacturing in Gujarat for providing training of technical skills to youths.
Toshihiro in his speech said: Our new automobile plant in Gujarat will start production from next month. I visited the site yesterday and found everything ready. Production capacity will be expanded 7,50,000 unit in future on top of existing 1.5 million unit in Haryana. Our Gujarat plant will play an important role as production hub of passenger cars worldwide including tire 2 and tire 3.
He further said: we highly appreciate the mission of ‘skill india’ to support industry growth. In line with this initiative we decided to set up a Japan India Institute of Manufacturing to train school passouts in technical soft skills here in Gujarat. With our future expansion of Suzuki Motors Gujarat I am quite confident that you will see competitive automobile industry cluster here in Gujarat soon.
Toshihiro complemented the government for policy and execution side support to manufacturing sector.
