Ahmedabad: A grand celebration and felicitation of members of Gujarat’s Ranji Trophy Champion team is being planned by the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA). Mr. Parimal Nathwani, the Vice President of GCA informed this through a press- communique issued in this connection. The Gujarat team, under captaincy of Mr. Parthiv Patel, won the trophy for the first time in 83 years by defeating 41 times Ranji Champion Mumbai team.

Mr. Nathwani said that the champion team at present is engaged in practicing and preparing for a match against the Rest of India Team which will be played at CCI, Braborne Stadium, Mumbai. After that match, a grand felicitation of Gujarat Ranji Trophy Champion team will be organized at Ahmedabad; he added. The date, time and venue of the same will be finalized and informed shortly, he said.

Gujarat Ranji Tophy Team’s Captain Mr. Parthiv Patel and some of the players and support staff remained present during the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Motera Stadium, where they got tremendous applause.
