AIIMS to be set up in Gujarat and Jharkhand: Finance Minister in budget speech

Ahmedabad: Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today in his budget speech announced that the Centre will set up All India Institute of Medical Science(AIIMS) one each in Gujarat and Jharkhand. It should be mentioned here that the state government as already identified two pieces of land one at Vadodara and another at Rajkot for proposed AIIMS. It is likely that AIIMS will be set up in Rajkot(possibly) within this calendar year ahead of the Gujarat Assembly general elections 2017 that are likely to take place in the month of December.
In another Gujarat related announcement, the Finance Minister in his speech said the govt will support Gujarat to commemorate 100 years of Sabarmati ashram(in Ahmedabad).
