Congress to hold meeting of Gujarat assembly polls ticket aspirants on March 20

Ahmedabad: Main opposition Congress will organize a meeting of its ticket aspirants for this year’s Gujarat assembly polls on March 20 in the university convention hall here.
The meeting to be attended by state president Bharatsinh Solanki, leader of opposition Shankersinh Vaghela, AICC general secretary and in-charge of party affairs in Gujarat, Gurudas Kamat and other senior leaders of the party is being organized on the them ‘Congress is coming’ (Congress Aave Chhe in Gujarati).
Party spokesperson Manish Doshi today said the meeting will be presided over by Mr Solanki.
‘In the meeting information regarding important electoral subjects for awareness of the ticket aspirants will be shared. Discussion about the party ideology, local equations, local issues and other pro-people and electoral subjects will be held. The ticket aspirants would be provided guidance by the senior leaders,’ he said.
Notably, Gujarat assembly elections are due to be held by December this year. However speculation about early election in the wake of spectacular win of ruling BJP in UP and Uttarakhand are rife.
