Ahmedabad: Gujarat Congress today said the ground-level hearing for selection of assembly seat candidates has been completed for over 100 assembly seats today. Tomorrow, on the second and the last day of two-day hearing drive the observers appointed for 182 assembly seats will complete the process for all seats after which the district presidents of party will hand over the list of panels to the state election committee. The decision on selection of candidates will be taken only on winability criteria, said the party note adding that the panels of candidates must have at least one youth below 45 age. Also in each Lok Sabha seat area, at least one assembly seat ticket will have to be allotted to woman candidate. Those who lost assembly poll in the past with margin of 20,000 votes or higher, those who haven’t submitted proper list of 15 supporters in booth area and those who have lost the polls twice in the past will not be included in panel. The final list of candidate will be announced by All India Congress Committee after screening committee’s meeting.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Congress’s Jan Vedna sammelans are going on across the State. Today one such sammelan was held in Bapunagar area with former Gujarat Congress chief Arjun Modhwadia as main speaker.
