City’s diamond barons have played key role in construction of this hospital. Most donation for this non-profit hospital project has come from diamond businessmen who are originally from Saurashtra region but settled in Surat.
According to them, the project is conceived with an idea to give something back to the city which gave shelter, food and employment to those who migrated here from Saurashtra.

It should be mentioned here that Prime Minister Modi had laid foundation stone for this project in year 2013 when he was Chief Minister of Gujarat. 3.53 acre (14,300 Sq. Mts.) land for this hospital project was allocated by Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC) for this project on then Chief Minister Modi’s recommendation.

The hospital before its opening was kept open for 26-day for public visit. On an average daily 15,000 visitors visited the hospital building in prescribed hours. The hospital management had deployed guides and volunteers with microphones on every floor to facilitate guided group visits.

According to donors, the hospital has used best available equipment from America and Europe, doing away with China made machines. The best use of technology, a team of full-time doctors who are handpicked after thorough procedures of interview, bacteria-free air circulation in entire hospital complex, five-bed AC general rooms, state-of-the-art luxurious VIP rooms, all kinds of health related solution at single place, elevators etc are some highlights of this hospital project.
