In jail since 2008, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur finally gets bail

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court division bench of Justices Ranjit More and Shalini Phansalkar Joshi today granted bail to Sadhvi Pragya Singh Takhur in the 2008 Malegaon blast case on a surety of Rs 5 lakh. The court in its order said prima facie there is no case made out against Sadhvi.
Sadhvi has been asked by court to surrender her passport to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). She has been also directed by court not to tamper with the evidence and to report to NIA court as and when needed.
The High Court however dismissed an appeal filed by co-accused former Lt Col Prasad Purohit.
Sadhvi Pragya and Purohit were arrested in 2008 and are in jail since then.8 persons were killed and nearly 80 others were injured when a bomb strapped to a motorcycle exploded in Malegaon on September 29, 2008.
