Schedule for auction of two plots at Sabarmati Riverfront announced

Gandhinagar: The government has made volumetric regulation for the development of commercial plots on riverfront in style of global cities like New York, Chicago, London and Singapore, thanks to which iconic constructions will be possible without FSI (Floor Space Index) limit in prescribed length, width and height. Ahmedabad will be the first city of India to witness volumetric development like global cities.
Out of total land available, 14.5% or 3,26,830 square meter land has been marked for sell which include 26 plots on the eastern bank of Sabarmati and 25 plots on the western bank – thus total 51 plots. Of this land available, two plots on western bank are selected for sell and related procedure has been started by municipal corporation. Construction for the purposes such as shopping mall, corporate house, hotel, hospital, apartment, office, theater, multiplex etc will be possible on this land. Thus for the first time, Sabarmati Riverfront is opening for private sector development.
It should be mentioned here that Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) has spent Rs 2500 crore for construction of Sabarmati Riverfront of which Rs 1300 crore was spent for construction and facilities while Rs 1200 crore was spent for rehabilitation of 12,000 families.
Each of two plots that are for sell offer river view.International airport is just 10 minute away from each plot. Metro rail project is closer to both plots. Each of two plots is located next to the marked area for Central Business District.
AMC will first do online auction through e-auction mode. Rs 7,86,250 per square meter base price has been fixed for plot number 355 which has 17 FSI while Rs 2,96,651 per square meter base price has been fixed for plot number 184 which has 6 FSI provision for construction.
Builders who want to participate in auction process will need to register between 5 May – 5 June 2017 period. Mock round of e-auction will take place on 14-15 June and online auction will take place on 21-22 June, 2017.
