Surendranagar sizzles at 44.8°C, seven places record above 43 temperature in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: The met department has not issued any official heat wave warning however several places in the state recorded over 43 °C temperature today with two recording over 44°C and Surendranagar with highest 44.8°C virtually sizzled.
Rajkot was second hottest place with 44.3 °C and Amreli with third highest temperature at 43.8°C also felt the ire of scorching sun.
Ahmedabad recorded a maximum of 43.3°C which was around 2 degrees above normal.
Due to scorching sun and unbearable heat at many places including Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Amreli, Gandhinagar, Rajkot Deesa, and Surendranagar people remained indoor during the noon and afternoon and roads at several places wore deserted look.
The met department, however has not issued any heat-wave warning for the coming days so far.
