Baba Ramdev to set up research center for promotion and progeny of desi cows in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev during his visit to Ahmedabad announced a plan to set up a world-class institution for research and promotion of Indian desi cow varieties especially Gir and Kankrej varieties and their progeny. Ramdev is in talk with the Gujarat government for a place to set up this centre. The government is likely make announcement in this regard on World Yoga Day function on June 21 at GMDC ground in Ahmedabad. The idea of Ramdev is to produce ‘sexed semen’ from Indian breeds through insemination with semen so that only female calves are born and help the breed develop.
