Gujarat govt announces Rs 15,000 aid to Sindhu Darshan pilgrims

Rajkot: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today announced Rs 15,000 assistance for Sindhi people who visit Jammu & Kashmir for Sindhu Darshan. He made this announcement while participating in Chetichand function in Rajkot.
Sidhu Darshan Yatra is organized every year during 23-26 June by Sindhi community in Leh-Ladakh area of Jammu & Kashmir.
The yatra was initiated under the leadership of former deputy prime minister LK Advani in October 1997. Around 2,000 Sindhis from across the states including 250-300 from Gujarat participate in this yatra event.
The Chief Minister today made announcement that State government arm Pavitra Yatradham Vikas Board will extend assistance of Rs 15,000 to each Sindhu Darshan Yatrik. The government has made provision of Rs 30 lakh for 200 Yatriks for this purpose.
