Gujarat Gau Seva Aayog Vice Chairman to sit on 48 hours fast protesting Kerala cow slaughter incident

Ahmedabad: The Vice Chairman of Gujarat Gau Seva Aayog (cow welfare commission), Chaitanya Shambhu Maharaj, will sit on a 48 hours fast from tomorrow to protest against the cow slaughter incident of Kerala at Congress party’s ‘beef festival’ protest progamme.

Shambhu Maharaj will sit on fast in Sola Bhagwat premises in here.

After participating in a meeting of the saint community here on the issue during which the incident was unanimously condemned, he said that it was not fair on the part of any body to hold such a cruel demonstration.

‘One can protest against anything in democratic way but such an incident must be condemned in strongest terms and action should be taken against those involved in it,’ he said.

Another prominent Saint Balkrishna Saraswati said that the Kerala incident was nothing but an abhorable divisive act deliberately meant to hurt the Hindu sentiments.

Saint Akhileshwar Das sought capital punishment for those involved in the incident. He also appealed all the truly Hindu leaders to leave Congress immediately in the wake of the incident.

Dwarka Shankaracharya pith’s Dandi Shri Sadananda Saraswatiji, leading saing Parmatmanandji Swami, Akhileshji Maharaj – Hanuman Mandir Saraspur, Maninagar Shri Swaminarayan Gaadi Sanstha Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Mahant Shri Bhagvatpriyadasji Swami, Shri Prashantswarupji Swami, Memnagar Gurukul’s Balkrishnadasji Swami, Kalol Vishwamangal Pratishthanam Gurukul Saints, Gandhinagar Gurukul Saints, former union minister Vallabhbhai Kathiria among others gathered today and condemned the Kerala incident.

Notably, effigies of Congress leadership were burnt in Vadodara, Rajkot, Surat and Kutch today as a mark of protest by various outfits.
