Money stashed in bedroom, bathroom, pillow reached banks thanks to demonetization move: Naidu

Ahmedabad: The mantra of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government in Centre is – Reform, perform, transform, said Union urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu speaking at Gujarat University Convention Centre in Ahmedabad today.

Naidu was addressing the builders, developers and others gathered here on the occasion of opening of GIHED-CREDAI property show.

He said, ‘earlier the Centre would keep 70% and release 30% for the States, now under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Centre has started keeping 42% share and releasing 50% for the States apart from 5% for local bodies and 2% for disaster management.

The Centre has set target of housing for all by 2022, Naidu said.

Speaking in great length on demonetization move by the Modi government, the union minister said, “banks have lot of money these days. The money which was earlier located inside the bedroom, bathroom, under pillow reached bank thanked to demonetization move. Some people question the move, but they should know that entire money reached bank due to this move with the details such as pata(source location), pati and pita(the owners), Naidu said adding that no country of the size of India could dare to do this. Only this man Narendra Modi could do it.

Naidu said people faced problems during the 50-day period post demonetization announcement and some people(the opponents) had started predicting the end of Modi government, but after the results of Uttar Pradesh we don’t need to say anything further. The analysis of common man was great. Common man of India displayed his belief in honesty.

Naidu also spoke about the direct bank transfer initiative of the central government and JAM (Jandhan, Aadhar, Mobile).

Naidu congratulated Ahmedabad and Surat for their initiatives in urban development and affordable housing sectors.
