Met department revise and elongate heavy rainfall warning

Ahmedabad: Met department today somewhat revised and elongated its heavy rainfall warning till July 17 during which there was likelihood of some spells of very heavy to extremely heavy downpour at some places including Ahmedabad in the next four days.
The port and fishermen warning has also been elongated accordingly up to July 17 (from tomorrow).
Even as several place including Ahmedabad saw light to moderate rains today (from 8 am to 2 pm) today with Dharampur in Valsad and Waghai in Dangs seeing maximum of around an inch. Navsari, Surendranagar, Narmada, Vadodara, Tapi, Chhota Udepur, Junaghad, Rajkot, Kheda, Panchmahal, Bharuch, Dahod, Surat, Gir Somnath and Jamnagar districts also saw some amount of rain. There was likelihood of heavy rains in some of these places in the evening or night.
Meanwhile, the revised rainfall warning for the next four days was as following –
Heavy to very heavy rain at few places with isolated extremely heavy falls very likely in the districts of Gujarat region namely Vadodara, Chotaudaipur, Narmada, Mahisagar, Panchmahal, Anand, Kheda, Bharuch, Dahod, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar. Heavy to very heavy rain very likely at isolated places in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch namely Surendranagar, Morbi, Rajkot, Botad, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli during on July 14
Heavy to very heavy rain at few places with isolated extremely heavy falls very likely in the districts of Gujarat region namely Dahod, Mahisagar, Aravali, Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Pachmahal, kheda, Anand Vadodara, Chotaudaipur and Narmada; Saurashtra-Kutch namely Surendranagar, Morbi, Rajkot, Botad, Bhavnagar, Porbandar, Jamnagar, Gir Somath and in Diu, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli on July 15.
Heavy rain very likely at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Patan and Heavy to very heavy rain very like at isolated places in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch namely Surendranagar, Morbi, Rajkot, Porbandar, Kutch and in Diu, on July 16
Heavy rain very likely at isolated places in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch namely Rajkot, Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Kutch on July 17.
Port Warning
Due to active monsoon condition, Squally weather is likely to prevail near the ports along Gujarat coast. Sea condition will be moderate to rough along and off Gujarat coast during 14 th to 17 th July..
Fishermen warning
Fishermen are advised not to venture into the Sea along and off Gujarat coast during 14 th to 17 th July.
Meanwhile, the relief and rescue machinery has put itself in a high state of preparedness in the wake of warnings. The concerned district administrations have also been alerted.
