Cumulative 588 mm rain in Chotila in two days, figures of today’s rain up to 6 pm

Gandhinagar: After flooding several parts of Gujarat yesterday, extremely heavy spells of monsoon rain continued for the second day today with repeat of downpour in Surendranagar and Morbi for the second consecutive day while Kutch, notorious for little rain, saw flood like situation in many areas with over 8 inches of rain in its Abdasa taluka.

The prominent rain figures between 8 am to 6 pm today was as following:

-Dasada (Surendranagar) 235 mm
-Rajkot city – 200 mm
-Abdasa (Kutch)- 175 mm
-Jodia (Jamnagar)- 146 mm
-Chotila (Surendranagar) 138 mm (had received 450mm yesterday totaling around 600 mm now)
-Dhrangadhra (Surendranagar) 121mm
-Morbi city – 114 mm
-Lodhika (Rajkot) 113 mm
-Lalpur (Jamnagar) 112 mm
-Bhachau and Bhuj (Kutch) 106 mm each
-Wadhvan (Surendranagar) 105 mm
-Mandvi (Kutch) 102 mm
-Paddhdhari (Rajkot) 99 mm
-Kalavad (Jamnagar) 94mm
-Viramgam (Ahmedabad) 91 mm

A total of 192 talukas across the state have witnessed rain till 6 pm of which 36 have seen over 2 inches and 23 over 3 inches.
