MLAs cast vote in Gandhinagar for Presidential poll, one MLA boycotts the polling, Shah casts vote in Delhi

Gandhinagar: MLAs of Congress, BJP, NCP cast their votes for Presidential election. Chhotubhai Vasava, MLA of JD(U) who has been elected from Jhaghadia in Central Gujarat boycotted the Presidential poll by not casting his vote over tribal issues. Naranpura MLA and national president of BJP Amit Shah cast his vote in Delhi with special permission of Election Commission of India. Congress general secretary and state party incharge Ashok Gehlot cast his vote at Gujarat Assembly. Gehlot is Rajasthan MLA. Dhari MLA Nalin Kotadia who was elected on Gujarat Parivartan Party(GPP) said he cast his vote in favor of opposition candidate for Presidential election smt Meira Kumar. When asked about chances of cross voting from opposition MLAs, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said BJP has not employed any efforts to gain opposition votes in favor of NDA candidate Ram Nath Kovind through cross voting. It’s worth noting that two Congress MLAs Hakubha Jadeja and Raghavji Patel who are unhappy with state party leadership had skipped Congress party’s legislature group meeting yesterday in connection with Presidential election. The result of Presidentian election which is almost sure in favor of NDA candidate Ram Nath Kovind is going to be out on July 20th.
